About us

shortlist is a trading name of shortlist works. References to "Shortlist", "we", "us" or "our" in these terms refer to shortlist works.

Using this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not use it in any way that causes damage to the site or impairs other users' access, or in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful.

We reserve the right to suspend or withdraw access to the site at any time without notice.

Our services

Shortlist provides a candidate pipeline service for hiring teams. We identify, contact and qualify candidates based on a brief submitted by the client. Our service terms, fees and deliverables are set out in the engagement confirmation sent when a brief is accepted.

Nothing on this website constitutes a binding offer. A service agreement begins only when we confirm acceptance of a brief in writing.

Fees and payment

Fees are charged on completion of the agreed deliverable. No payment is due if we do not deliver suitable candidates. All fees are stated exclusive of VAT unless noted otherwise.

Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue. Late payments may incur interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.

Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, design, graphics and code — is owned by or licensed to shortlist works. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

Candidate shortlists and profiles we produce are for the sole use of the commissioning client. They may not be shared with third parties or used to circumvent our fee structure.

Limitation of liability

We provide our service with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee that every candidate we introduce will be suitable, available or willing to proceed.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. Our total liability to any client in connection with a search will not exceed the fee paid for that search.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.

Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential any non-public information shared during the course of a search. This includes candidate details, hiring plans and any commercial information provided by either side.

Governing law

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
